Therapy for Challenging Life Changes in Adulthood

Therapy for the moments you didn’t expect to feel this hard.

A steady place to slow down, breathe, and figure out what you need next.

*Sessions are available online across Michigan and in-person in Plymouth, Michigan and surrounding areas.

Welcome, I’m Bree.

When life feels overwhelming or heavier than you thought it would, it’s hard to know where to start. You don’t have to sort through it on your own. Therapy gives you room to pause, understand what’s happening inside, and feel supported as you find your way through.

I work with adults in Michigan who are navigating life transitions, emotional overwhelm, anxiety, stress, and have advanced understanding of the mental health effects of perimenopause. These experiences can leave you feeling unsettled or unlike yourself. You deserve a space that honors what you’re carrying and helps you find what you need.

Why You’re Here

Something in your life has shifted, or you have, and you’re trying to understand what it means.

You might be:

  • Not feeling like yourself

  • Unsure what you’re feeling or what you need

  • Overwhelmed, stretched thin, or exhausted

  • More reactive or sensitive than usual

  • Caught in anxious thoughts or constant stress

  • Holding everything together while feeling depleted inside

  • Feeling “off” due to perimenopause

If any of this feels familiar, you’re not alone and in the right place.

How Therapy Helps

Life transitions, even the ones you expected, can bring uncertainty, grief, or a sense of unsteadiness. In our work together, you’ll have space to talk openly about what’s happening and understand why it feels so hard and what you need.

Together, we’ll:

  • Clarify what’s coming up for you

  • Notice the patterns that keep you stuck

  • Build tools that help you feel steadier and more in control

  • Move toward relief, clarity, and a stronger sense of yourself

  • Process painful experiences at your pace and move toward healing

This work is especially supportive when you’re adjusting to new roles, redefining who you are, or trying to find your way through emotional overwhelm or burnout.

Ways I Can Help

Emotional Overwhelm, Anxiety, and Irritability
We’ll look at what’s fueling these shifts and create strategies that help you feel calmer, clearer, and more able to respond instead of react.

Identity Shifts & Role Transitions
When your roles change, your sense of self can feel blurry. We’ll explore what you need, who you’re becoming, and how to move through this stage with more confidence and self‑trust.

Perimenopause & Midlife Changes
Perimenopause can bring emotional intensity, anxiety spikes, irritability, and a sense of feeling “off.” Together, we’ll work toward restoring steadiness and helping you feel more like yourself again.

What Our Work Looks Like

I offer a warm, safe space where you can talk openly about your experiences, even the parts that feel confusing, hard to name or are embarrassing. My style is direct, compassionate, and collaborative.

My approach is holistic, integrative, trauma‑informed, and grounded in evidence‑based practices. We’ll work in a way that recognizes your strengths and helps you reconnect with your resilience.

How We’ll Work Together

Our sessions blend insight with practical tools so you can understand what’s happening, feel equipped to handle what’s coming up, and move forward with more clarity and confidence.

We may explore:

  • Mindfulness and grounding tools

  • Shifting unhelpful thought patterns

  • Setting boundaries that protect your time and energy

  • Regulating intense emotions

  • Understanding long‑standing patterns and ways to change them

  • Strengthening your voice and sense of agency

  • Improving communication

  • Processing painful experiences

  • Creating a life that reflects who you are now

Understanding Perimenopause

Perimenopause can bring emotional and physical changes that feel unpredictable or destabilizing. These experiences are real and deserve care.

Beyond hot flashes or cycle changes, perimenopause can affect:

  • Mood and emotional sensitivity

  • Anxiety and irritability

  • Sleep and energy

  • Mental clarity and focus

  • Identity, confidence, and sense of self

  • Relationships, boundaries, and caregiving roles

  • Work‑life balance and shifting priorities

These changes often overlap with other life transitions, making everything feel more intense. In therapy, we’ll explore what’s happening and build tools that help you feel more supported and connected to yourself.
